Does any one have information on the Validity & Reliabliity of the Abel Screening? I have a case were someone has reported that the client's results indicate that he is a peophile. Last I heard Dr. Abel said that you can not make a diagnoses for the results alone. Thanks, george mount

I don't have his stats on hand, but you are right.
Dr. Abel does state that you should not use the AASI to diagnose someone with pedophilia.
It does demonstrate whether the person's sexual interests lean toward certain age groups and genders.
But does not make a diagnosis, nor does it verify whether the person taking the test committed any offense.
