Is anyone aware of a sex inventory that is appropriate for either adults or adolescents with limited reading skills or lower intelligence quotients? I am looking for inventories that will provide information for treatment planning. I currently use the Multiphasic Sex Inventory II (MSI-II) for adults and the MSI-II adolescent for juveniles. However, over 500 questions is not appropriate for persons with low reading skills or IQ levels. I sometimes use the Abel and Becker Cognitions Scale for such adults but it does not give me as much information as I would like. (I do not use the Abel, Becker and Kaplan as it appears to me that it puts ideas into adolescents heads more that gathering information.) I have used and like both the AASI and the The Abel–Blasingame Assessment System, but since I am currently practicing on my own in a rural area, the cost for purchasing it is prohibitive. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I have something on my computer at work that I got from William Lindsay, who is a psychologist in the UK who has done LOTS of work with developmentally disabled offenders. Do a lit search on this guy - he does good work. The inventory I have is done interview-style, rather than self administered but it taps all the relevant areas. I can't remember what it is called but I will send it to myself so I can share it.

Looks like I can only do one attachment - I have four files. If you want the rest email me and I will send it - jan1looman2@yahoo.ca. Attachments:

Thanks for the info! I also have had some frustrations with gathering information from offenders with various difficulties. I normally use the MSI-II, and it is quite lengthy. Thanks again, Janice

Thanks, Janice. I briefly scanned the attachment, downloaded and printed it. I look forward to getting further into it.
