Hi Guys, I have an adult male in treatment who sexually abused a nine year old boy for a period of a year and a half. This individual inserts objects into his penis and anus and taught his victim how to do this for him and also tried to on the victim. My client claims he was not sexually abused and he came to enjoy inserting objects when he was about 13 in the shower with a bath plug. He doesn't see why the concern of where this started. What interventions do you recommend other than confronting cognitive distortions, healthy sexual practices, and possibly ammonia? He enjoys his sexual practices. Thanks for any insight and suggestions.

Hi. I am not sure I would know of anything else to do without a full evaluation that includes polygraph info (current offense and also sexual history) and also sexual interest (Abel Assessment) or penile plethysmography. I am thinking that these assessments might give you some insight into what he may be leaving out and possibly has done - or not - for a more thorough treatment plan. He is on probation, right? In group?
Thanks, Janice
